We were created by entrepreneur, philanthropist and TV star Samantha Baines, over ten years ago. When she left drama school Samantha realised that creatives needed help with social media just like big businesses do and Penguin in the Room was born. Ten years on, we have a lovely team of Penguins made up of creative freelancers and Samantha is still with us as company Director. Check out the rest of our team below.

Samantha Baines 

Director and Founder

Samantha Baines is our founder and all round arts marketing and social media guru! Samantha is an award winning comedian, author and actress (The Crown, Call the Midwife) and she runs our workshops and consults for freelancers and businesses alike. She is also proud to be deaf (hearing aid user) and is Ambassador for RNID.

  Emily Baines
Client Relationship Manager

Emily is the point of call for all of our clients and if you are thinking about joining our gang, it is Emily you will be hearing from. Emily is also an Artist, Arts Event Manager and specialises in accessibility in the workplace.

Lucy Norris
Twitter Manager

Lucy Norris is our Twitter Manager, working her magic on a portfolio of social media accounts. She has been with Penguin in the Room since it's inception and knows everything twitter. Lucy is a creative freelancer and also works as an actress and playwright.
